READ THIS FIRST!

We don’t believe in having a template for people to copy and paste into an application, but some points to remember when making your application:

  • We recruit based on the Player as much as the Character. This means not only your skill and experience, but also you as a person. We're a close guild with a great internal community and social dynamic, so tell us about yourself with that in mind.

  • This is just the first stage of our recruitment process. You'll need to speak directly with an officer at some point, and we'll be treating your application like a CV. Asking you questions about its content and anything we feel might be missing. Don’t feel the need to exaggerate or bolster your application with grandiose claims and language. Keep things simple.

  • Tell us your raiding experience. We are a 25 man raiding guild, and we want to know how you fill your role as 1/25th of our raiding machine. Be as specific as you can, and let us know what content you've played/cleared and how you found it.

  • We are an English speaking guild, and all of our voice/written communication is in English. We have a number of nationalities which are prominent in Apostasy besides the UK, which include Sweden, Malta and the Netherlands (to name a few).

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for making an application to Apostasy.

Essential Information.

General

Apostasy is a 25man Raiding guild, formed roughly around the tier 4 era of TBC. The founding and long-standing members were mainly from a previous guild, which raided MC since release. We are a serious raiding guild, and we therefore expect our members to be serious about it too.

The guild is run by a council of officers, who are recruited from the guild itself. We encourage discussion of guild policy and accept feedback and suggestions from our members provided such discussion is constructive.

Raiding Times

Currently the expected attendance level is set at 75%, which means you need to be able to raid for 3 of the 4 weekly raids. Raid days and times are: -

Sunday 18:00UK (19:00 Server) - 22:30UK (23:30 Server)
Monday 19:00UK (20:00 Server) - 22:30UK (23:30 Server)
Tuesday 19:00UK (20:00 Server) - 22:30UK (23:30 Server)
Wednesday 19:00UK (20:00 Server) - 22:30UK (23:30 Server) - No longer applicable as of yet

Our Raid days and times change depending on content release. These standard days are used as a base for our progression, but extra days can be added for the pursuit of server firsts and general progression.

Performance

You are expected to be fully prepared for every raid you attend. Consumables are standard practise, which includes food buffs, flasks/elixirs and mana pots. The guild will sometimes provide these, but you are always expected to bring your own in case this isn't possible.

You will be tested for your ability to think fast, react and learn from mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes; the problem comes when people repeat those mistakes. The raid cannot afford to carry anyone through content and as such performance in raids is tightly monitored.

Monitoring is done through both officers' opinions, and through WWS.

You will be expected to have a basic understanding of all new content and a thorough understanding of all content currently on farm.

Guild Ethos

Postby Jonneh on Wed Mar 11, 2009 10:37 am

Apostasy prides itself on being a respectable and mature raiding guild. We are a collection of adults and gamers, the core of which has been together since the release of WoW. Our community is friendly and we welcome new members who are willing to work hard towards our mutual goals and respect our rules.

We are serious about PvE progression, and the officers put alot of work in outside of our standard raiding times to ensure that the guild runs smoothly and is prepared for events and patches which bring us new content or change the way we play the game. Being an officer is a thankless job, so please go easy on us and remember the responsibility we have accepted on your behalf is entirely done at the sacrifice of our own time for little or no personal benefit.

Apostasy does not tolerate trolling, flaming or e-drama of any kind. We expect members to be mature and to respect each other and the rules. People who cause such drama will probably find that Apostasy is not the guild for them, because we have no time for these things. Trolls and E-Drama queens need not apply!
